Unfavourable changes for RES (definition of installed capacity) - Jacek Kosiński

The amendment to the Act on Renewable Energy Sources, already signed by the President, includes a definition of installed capacity. Unfortunately, its content may have negative consequences for the RES market.

This is due to the fact that the installed capacity is one of the most important factors for everyone interested in renewable energy.

Among examples of the importance of installed capacity, it is worth mentioning the various support programs for the construction of new installations related to the production of green energy.

Without quoting the whole definition in question, the essence of the changes is that the total power of individual modules will determine the installed capacity of electricity.

It is worth pointing out that many experts consider the power of inverters to be more reliable.

This situation may translate into, for example, limitations in construction of hybrid RES installations.
